And so that was Christmas
Did you sit on the knee of a white-haired dude in a strange suit and tell him what you wished for? Did you miss the opportunity? Because Dr Glam is always available to listen. Santa comes and goes, but Dr Glam is here, year-round; working his silver fingers to the bone for your entertainment.
And what a year it has been…filled with drama, challenges great and small and judiciously applied glitter. We shot the chocolate spider video in May, and only now do we have a practically finished version, thanks to the feverish attentions of the tall silver one's brother-in-law to be, Steve Synnott. It was a surprise Christmas present; one that made me think. Wouldn't you love gifts like that? What job have you been struggling to finish? Imagine awaking on Christmas morn to find your garden weeded, your thesis submitted, your buttons sewn on and your memoirs finished with historical accuracy, wit and a frank and endearing empathy. Steve is onto a winner. The video is a shiny, colorful, kid-tastic triumph. You'll see it here first.
Speaking of mind-blowingly creative Christmas gifts; mother of yours truly and soon to be glam in-law, Shirley, has created something most sparkly and wondrous…something so glamtastically stupendous and inspired that you will WANT one as soon as you feast your eyes on the following photographic evidence.
Yes, ladies and germs…BEHOLD! A genuine Ian Chapman/Dr Glam russian doll, resplendent with no fewer than 7 glam rock icons! Hand painted and lovingly besparkled by the glam family matriarch. Some grandmas knit winter jumpers, some crochet baby blankets…my mother paints Alice Cooper and David Bowie on wooden dolls. I'm so proud I could scream.

Can you name them all??
So, what's lined up for 2012? The David Bowie thesis to trump all theses, a very, very cool special project that is more than a little bit amazing, and more strange and wonderful happenings, the likes of which your tiny human brains cannot comprehend…
Here's to a year of fulfilling your craziest dreams…Dr Glam says 'Now is a chance for reinvention and regeneration, and 2012 is gonna be HUGE if you're into sequins'. Trust him, he's a doctor.
See you on the flipside, puny earthlings! It's been a blast!
